Vacancy – Community Bus Driver & Passenger Assistant

Fixed term contract until March 2022

£17,682  (pro rata, 18 hours per week over 3 days)

Working for the Community as a driver for our Community Transport Scheme, you will provide a service for mainly our elderly and/or people with mobility issues who request transport from door to door. Many of our clients require assistance and therefore drivers need to be physically fit with a caring personality.

The post holder must also be prepared to work flexibly to support the Community Transport service and be willing to undertake a DBS Disclosure and complete all additional training as required.

Closing date Monday 10th May. Interviews will be held W/C 17th May 2021.

CATT Community Transport

Do you have trouble getting around South Bristol? Do local public bus services not meet your needs? If so we can help!

Join our community transport service for flexible, door to door transport to local shops and services.

All our buses are fully accessible and cater for people in wheelchairs or with mobility needs.

Once you are a member you can also come on day trips with us to many destinations including Weston Super Mare, Bourton on the Water, or Clarks Village.

How much will it cost?

Services are only open to members.  Membership costs £10 per year and anyone can join if they are over 16.

Once you are a member, some services are free to Bristol City Council bus pass holders.

If you don’t have a concessionary travel pass we can still provide travel, contact the office for more details.

What areas do we cover?

At the moment we collect passengers from across the following areas of South Bristol:

Ashton, Ashton Vale, Bedminster, Bedminster Down, Bishopsworth, Brislington, Broomhill, Hartcliffe, Headley Park, Hengrove, Highridge, Knowle, St.Annes, Stockwood, Uplands, Whitchurch, Whitchurch Park and Withywood.

Our services go to Bedminster, Broadmead, Symes District Centre, Imperial Park, GP surgeries, Health Centres, Dentist and other local destinations.

How do I join?

Just download and complete the membership form below and return with £10.

Alternatively call us on 0117 377 3451 or email us on thecattbus@hwcp.org.uk and we can send you out a form.

We can then share all our timetables with you.

You can also pick up forms or drop in and talk to us at the CATT Community Bus office in the @symes Community Building, Peterson Avenue (opposite Morrisons).

How often do the services run?

Monday to Friday with occasional extra trips on a Saturday or Sunday. We look forward to seeing you!

Volunteer with CATT

The CATT bus depends on regular and reliable group of volunteers. We provide initial training (MiDAS – Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) and DBS check (Disclosure & Barring Service).
