⚠️Withywood Reservoir - low pressure and discoloured water ⚠️

UPDATE 06:10 The crews have been working through the night and repaired the three bursts. A forth burst has also been fixed overnight and we're currently increase the pressure in the main. Pressure may vary for a bit and you may have a slightly brown coloured water. Run your tap for a bit and this should pass.

UPDATE 22:02 We're currently dealing with three bursts close to each other. One on Four Aches Road should be repair in the next half an hour. We then bring the pressure up slowly so water will be back for around 130 of you. Other two are more complicated with other utilities around so are going to take a while still. I appreciate it's not the best but might be worth heading off to bed if you can and all should be back to normal in the morning.

UPDATE 16:30 There is secondary burst on Four Acres Road that is affecting 140 properties, crew are on site excavating with a view to repair.

Unfortunately there is a third burst main adjacent to the original burst main on Queens Road and this will require a repair and currently affecting 130 Properties,
We do apologise for all the disruption this is causing today and we are working hard to restore supply in the area. Ali

UPDATE 15.15 Most properties should still be in water. We have had to isolate the supply to some properties now while our crew carry out the repairs. This shouldn't take more than a few hours and where possible we have sent text messages to warn those affected. ^Melissa

UPDATE 14.00
Our crew are still working on repairing the burst main. Currently, all but ten properties are in water.
Customers affected will have lower water pressure than normal and you may see this decrease during peak time this evening. Thank you for your patience whilst our crew work to get this repaired as soon as possible.

UPDATE 13.00
We have rerouted the water supply, and most properties should now be in water although at a lower pressure that normal. You're water may be discoloured- running your cold kitchen tap will flush this through.
Properties on higher ground may still be without water and we are looking into bottles water deliveries now, starting with our most vulnerable customers.

UPDATE 10.45 Our crew and inspectors are on site. Traffic management is in place so our crew can safely begin work on the repairs.

There is a possible burst main in the Withywood area causing problems pumping water from the reservoir to the Withywood, Bishopsworth, Dundry and Highridge areas.

We have a District Inspector en route now to investigate and arrange any repairs as soon as possible.
Customers affected may be experiencing low water pressure or no water.
Some customer may have discoloured brown, or yellow water. Running your cold kitchen tap for up to half an hour should clear this.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

What it means to be a Bristolian 💭

Our Positive Changes session at Hartcliffe Club For Young People this week explored this question with the young people, drawing a map of Hartcliffe featuring their most important parts.

The group decided that homes, parks, clubs and shops were the most important things to them.

The session also saw the young people create cyanotypes which is a traditional photographic process using sunlight to make prints, finished up with a quick game of hockey. ...
