Event Details

Patient Led Assessment of the Care Environment (PLACE) is being held at six separate hospitals again this year between February and June. They are:
  • Bristol Royal Hospital for Children
  • Bristol Royal Infirmary
  • Bristol Eye Hospital
  • BHOC
  • St Michael's Hospital
  • South Bristol Community Hospital
We don't know the dates yet as we are only informed within a few weeks notice by the Health and Social Care Information Centre. The assessments are held in the day time and last between 3-4 hours. You can take part in one assessment or up to six assessments. The assessment teams include: governers, patients, public, volunteers, carers and Healthwatch. As a result of last year's patient led assessments £160,000 was allocated to improvements identified by the assessment teams, so you do make a difference. If you are interested in taking part, please let me know your name and contact details (email and telephone). Also, in preparation for the assessments, we are holding a workshop to enable you to find our more about:
  • The assessment process on the day
  • How your input is included and how it's taken forward in the Trust
  • About the subjects of the assessment i.e food, dementia, disability; privacy & dignity, cleaning and the environment
Please email maria.fox@uhbristol.nhs.uk if you would like to be part of the assessments. Also, if you would like to attend the workshop on 31st January the details are: Tuesday 31 January 2017, 2pm to 4pm - Tutorial Room 1, UH Bristol Education and Research Centre, Upper Maudlin Street, Bristol BS2 8AE
